Hope is Born tells the story of the birth of Jesus on Earth from Heaven's perspective. The film explores the sacrifice involved in Jesus' coming to earth as well as looking forward to his eventual sacrifice on the cross to bring about God's salvation plan for the redemption of Humanity. The film also explores angelic bemusement at the way their leader and father-figure has torn himself apart for the sake of His creation. Portraying a tangible Heaven and modern-day Mary and Joseph, Hope is Born gives a different angle on the moment that God 'gave His only Son.'
  • Title:
    Humble Beginnings

    Producer:
    Jodi de Souza

    Description:
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS by Jodi De Souza is the nativity story set in the contemporary world. It looks to present the start of Christ's humanity in a fresh and engaging way, enabling a different generation to understand and identify with His journey. Often the iconography used in images and media surrounding the nativity de-humanize Mary and Joseph and minimise their plight. An adorable obedient donkey, cute little lambs and a warm cosy manger ... But the reality was an incredibly painful and difficult beginning. The film looks to present the story within our contemporary context to de-mystify it, so that we may see it and the characters more clearly. If Jesus were born today, how would our world receive him?
